Hey Everyone! We're getting ready for a long road trip in about a month, and I'm in the process of getting a lot of music together for the trip. I thought it would be fun to see what everyone is listening to now. What's your favorite song by Rhonda right now, and what is your favorite song by any other artist. Alright I'll start it off! Favorite Rhonda tune at this particular moment is a close race between "I Gotta Start Somewhere" and "The Water Is Wide". Favorite song by another artist right now is "Here Comes Goodbye" by Rascal Flatts.
I'll give you mine
Well what I'm listening to TODAY..I love Precious Jewel...as a matter of fact..our band it trying to work that one up..the harmony on it is Awesom! I love JD Crowe as well and I've been listening to "On my way back to the old home place"
We took turns playing songs from Ipods and computer on our trip to Washington/Oregon.
We ALWAYS ended up playing Me & My Guitar by Tony Rice...over and over again. I LOVE THAT SONG!!! Somehow I missed that project of Tony's growing up. I really must buy the cd. It also has the Ian Tyson song, Four Strong Winds. What a great song that is. Maybe I'll record that someday.
I am in music overload right now...lol! I have been sifting through music for hours. I have been back and forth between iTunes and Amazon.com trying to figure out which artists I wanted a whole album of and which ones I just wanted to download a few songs. I know it will all be worth it when we set out on our journey! The best part about music for a trip is that the driver (me ) gets to control the radio/CD player/iPod! Rhonda, I'll check out some of Tony's music. I don't think I have ever heard any of his stuff. Amanda, how awesome to get to play one of Rhonda's songs. Ahhh, I wish I could sing or play an instrument!
My favorite Rhonda CD at this moment is Good Thing Going with the fave song on that CD being Who's Cryin' Baby My other favorite right now is the new CD by Wynonna called Sing, chapter 1 ... my fave from this CD is The House Is Rockin' I love a woman who can get down and rock
Good Morning Megaroo,
I play all of Rhonda's CD's all the time, but "Back Home Again" & "The Storm Still Rages" are my Favorites. I play Mickey Harris CD's a lot and also Cherryholmes. My favorite non Bluegrass CD is Ashton Shepard. I played it for Dear Herby and he laughed at me thought I was nuts. So there's no accounting for taste...Mike G.
Good Morning Mike G.... jim g
Good Morning Jim G.,
I hope everything is good in Iowa with you and the Family. Hope to see you at Sally Mountain in a few short Months. Mike G.
Hey Mike, I love Ashton Shepherd! Why would Herby laugh about her...she is AWESOME! Her CD is great. My favorite songs on there are "Takin' Off This Pain" and "Sounds So Good". Being from the South, I really appreciate the twang in her voice!
For the past week I have been listening to all of Rhonda's Gospel songs.
She's my fav Today I have been listening to the smooth peaceful sound of Don Williams. ''You're my best friend'' and all the rest. Sweet ''John Denver'' Sunshine on my shoulders'' because it makes me happy. One of my favs , like John is ''Who's Crying Baby '' listen to this when I need a pick me up.
check out the Quebe Sisters!
Louise I love John Denver!!!
Megaroo--good luck with getting all your tracks together for your roadtrip...I have to say that my favorite song right now is Carrie Underwood's remake of "I Told You So" by Randy Travis. Have safe travels!
One of my Current Favorite Songs Is "Troubadour" by George Strait.
Here I go again!
All time favorite Rhonda songs: "Midnight Angel" (both versions) "Missouri Moon" "I've Forgotten You" "Till They Come Home" "Fishers of Men" "Homecoming" "Ashes of St Augustine" Current Favorite Country Songs: Martina McBride, "Wild Rebel Rose" Sugarland, "Steve Earle" ( Very funny cut)
This is a really good question. It's really hard to pick a favorite song, but I'd have to say that my favorite RV song as of late is the new gospel song on the upcoming album. Fishers of Men would stop me in my tracks every time, but "When I"ve Traveled My Last Mile" may just overtake it as my favorite song.
As far as other artists, I highly recommend you pick up a copy of Rosanne Cash's "Black Cadillac". It is seriously one of the best country/rock albums I've heard in a long, long time. Each song is written by Rosanne, and the words are just beautiful.
