Very good calls, Dr. Herb! AU - LSU is always a barn-burner, and OSU -Troy could be a closer game than it should be. Troy, the #3 football program in Alabama(after Auburn and that school in Tuscaloosa), has loved to play spoiler since moving up to Div.1 a few years ago.
Almost forgot - one problem with LSU this year is that their best quarterback, Ryan Perrilloux, is now the QB at Jacksonville State University - the #5 football program in our state(after #4 UAB). The Bengal Tigers have a decent offense, but Perrilloux was the spark that could have made them phenomenal.
The Ol' Dawg
Herb and Mike - I have traditionally refused to bet on the Dawgs. They
NEVER cover the spread. As far as LSU - Auburn, Defense should dominate, per Herb, but, I think LSU wins 21 - 3, Too many weapons, even with a new and inexperienced QB, and, I'm not convinced that Auburn has the needed personnel to run that spread offense. I believe LSU will force enough turnovers to make it a relatively comfortable, albeit low scoring, win. As far as the Dawgs are concerned, I think that UGA Defensive Coordinator Willie Martinez will help keep the Sun Devils in the game with his passive "bend, but don't break" style of defense. That ol' boy would druther have his eye jobbed out with a sharp stick than to blitz anybody. I think the Dawgs will score enough to win by 10 to 14 points. But, Dennis Erickson is a fine coach and his teams can be very dangerous, on occasion. Phillip "The Great Pumpkin" Fulmer will, once again, be "drownin' his sorrows" with Moon Pies and YooHoos after yet ANOTHER loss to the Gators, and Nick Saban's boys might have a "trap" a waitin' for 'em in Fayetteville, if they're lookin' ahead to their trip to Athens next week. AHHHHHH !!! College Football - Ain't NUTHIN' like it !!!
Here's what happened while you were at home today.........
