I am not sure if you read these, but I am writing you back again. I am the lady who told you about our friend who commit ed suicide. You wrote me a scripture that went right to my heart. I am 45 years old and just started going to church about 2 months ago. It is Sunday morning the 21, 2008 and I was watching cmt and on my computer I was listening to your song "Homecoming" then your new video came on. I want you to know I go to a group at the church I attened called Celebrate Recovery. I am a recovering alcoholic and drug addict. I have been clean for 4 weeks and 2 days. Last Thursday night I spent time with a friend after the meeting with a friend. The scripture you wrote me Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you;Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will help you, I will up hold you with my righteous right hand. I thought about that and I want you to know that at 10:30pm that night I was saved. I ask Jesus to come into my heart and be my Lord and forgive all my sins. I want to thank you what you wrote me had something to do with that. You have a very special spirit and you really touched my heart . Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you and may God keep blessing you Susie Lee

What great news, Susie Lee! Becoming a child of God is the most wonderful thing that can happen to a person, and I know it is a decision that you will never regret. When the days become heavy and difficult, as they do in all of our lives, here is a scripture you can rely on as well ... Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Not some things, or a few things, but all things! You can also bank on the words of Jesus Himself when he said, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)" You got a mighty hand to hold on to, girl! ! John S Congratulations and welcome to the family! !
Thank you for sharing this wonderful news Susie.
I'm so happy for you. I pray that you will continue to follow God's path. May God surround you with joy, love, and family. We are here for you!

There is a text from the Book of Common Prayer that, although meant for the ill and healing, is useful to me all the time. If i could figure out how to make a song out of it, I would.
IN THE MORNING
"This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it will be."
"If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely.
"If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly.
"If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently.
"And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly.
"Make these words more than words, and give me the Spirit of Jesus. Amen."
