Only 2 games this week will be on the agenda. My complete focus will be on the SEC and Big 12.
First, the SEC game of the week. Alabama vs Florida....Florida is without their big gun Percy Harvin. He leads their team in virtually all offensive categories. This will be a big loss for Gator land. Alabama will try to control the clock and make this a Big-10-like-game, you know...3 yards and a cloud of dust. Florida on the other hand may have to do the same without their big gun. Saban vs Urban...2 very good coaches. This will be closer than earlier thought, due to injuries. I still feel Florida is too good in all facets of the game. Florida 24 Alabama 21 Now for the Big 12 game....Oklahoma vs Mizzou...This will be a shootout. Unfortunately, the only team doing the shooting will be Oklahoma. I rarely go against my Tigers, but after last weeks performance, this game will get ugly in a hurry. Oklahoma 63 Mizzou 21 For all you Alabama and Mizzou fans, I've missed the last 6 weeks on the big games. There's always hope!!!!!
Rhonda- decking the porch
Hey there Mr. Swimmy....aren't you suppose to be outside, hanging our
Christ bulbs??? mas
Herb...you'll just have to take a TV outside with you.
Rhonda, you might want to re-think the cheerleading outfit if you go outside with him...it's freezing out there.
do what i do ... i send karen shopping tell her i will have it done when she gets back... i offer a donation to the scouts club here and they do it for me and i see the sunday football games...
it works... lol scott
I will never doubt you again. You were scary right! Wow...Mike G.
You know, I did get pretty close on that Mizzou game. Missed it by 1 point. While I was hanging all those Christmas decorations, I checked in on the Bama/Florida game. It was in the 4th quarter with about 7 minutes to go, and the score was 24-21. I thought Hmmmmm, today might be the day the "Swami" gets it right. Now, the only question remains, will THE Ohio St. get in a BCS game, or will it be Boise St?
Ohio St. has only lost 2 games this year, and both were to BCS bound teams. Gee, that sounds familiar. I think that's what Mizzou did last year and got snubbed. Will there be favortism this year in the BCS, or will they hold true to their form and put Boise St in? I will be ticked if OSU gets a BCS invite. Last year if you recall, Mizzou lost to Oklahoma twice (the last being in the Big 12 championship game.) Beat KU the next to last week of the season, and they let KU in the BCS. Boise St. is undefeated and ranked ahead of THE Ohio St. in the BCS. They should go to the BCS game instead of the Buckeyes. No offense GLK, but fair is fair. Here is this weeks top ten. It will remain this way till after the bowls. 1. Florida (BCS Championship game) 2. Oklahoma (BCS Championship game) 3. Texas (Fiesta Bowl) 4. USC (Rose Bowl) 5. Utah (Sugar Bowl) 6. Texas Tech (Cotton Bowl) 7. Alabama (Sugar Bowl) 8. Penn St. (Rose Bowl) 9. Boise St. (Fiesta Bowl) 10. Ohio State (Capitol 1 Bowl) Orange Bowl...ACC vs Big East
Herby - Mike G is right... the OU-Mizzou prediction was awesome! BTW, Auburn is looking for a new head coach. Interested? None of our top picks seem to want anything to do with our program. Should we be offended?
The Ol' Dawg
Herby - We all
KNOW that the BCS ain't about football teams and that it ain't based on merit. It's ALL about the bowl site's local Tourism Departments and who they think they can get there to make the most money for their local economies. Some criteria for a selection process, huh ? Mike - As far as the Auburn coaching position is concerned, the perception outside of Auburn is that it SHOULD be a top job, but, most candidates are "turned off" by the involvement of Bobby Lowder with the program. They were playin' audio clips here locally on Friday of Steve Ensminger's wife and her comments on that Birmingham sports talk radio show. Sounds like it's gettin' really ugly over there. Best of luck to Y'all - Hopefully, the GOOD Auburn fans can get a quality coach with fair circumstances for him to work under.
The Swami was obviously so wrapped up in his decorating that he completely underestimated that Mizzou Tiger defense. There's just no way that they were going to let the Sooners light them up for 63 points.
I'm thinking that we should all pool our resources and send the Swami to Las Vegas......and it won't be to see ! Carrot Top Herb, the BCS has never been fair and it's never going to be. Remember what happened to Kansas State in 1998, the first year of this nonsense. They should get rid of the automatic bids and the two teams per conference rule. In fact, they should get rid of the whole system and have a tournament. Don't blame me if the Fiesta or Sugar Bowl decides to select . We've got a lot of fans with nothing better to do than take a trip to Phoenix or New Orleans to watch a meaningless exhibition game. We're just dancing with the girl that brung us.....in my case, that would be Alessandra Ambrosio! THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY I feel sorry for whoever has to play Texas next.
Ok this is off topic, but then this topic is off topic for the Rhonda Vincent message board so I guess its ok
There's a light at the end of the tunnel from all of this football and basketball......Baseball's winter meetings start tomorrow!!!!! Let's see if the Pirates can trade away any other good players they may still have left for minor league players no one will ever hear of
OK, they did it again. The BCS took Ohio St. over Boise St. to play in the Fiesta Bowl. With all due respect to my esteemed colleague from Upper Management West, this is a travesty. IF, the Buckeyes can keep this game close, or pull off the upset, then I'll admit I was wrong. But I don't think if I was a Buckeye fan I would want to play Texas in Arizona. They're mad. They want to prove a point. They could win this game by 30 points and embarass the Buckeye faithful. If that happens, it will prove my point.
Here's an idea. Lets go back to an 11 game schedule, with the 4 major bowls being the first round of the palyoffs, with the winners advancing to the semi's then the finals. It would only be adding 1 more game than they already have, not to mention it would enhance the bowls instead of taking away from them. Just a thought. Don't know where the Mizzou Tigers will land, but I expect the Alamo Bowl. Hopefully they will put Iowa against us. That will stir up some excitement here in the midwest.
As a loyal employee of both the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl and the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl, I am completely opposed to any sort of post season playoff. Please visit the BCS website for a detailed explanation of why that would ruin college football. Boise State has an outstanding football program and recently completed another fantastic season. We are all looking forward to having them visit our little seaside community for the suddenly upgraded Poinsettia Bowl. Since the Fiesta Bowl had the first selection of the at-large teams, it was no surprise that they decided to choose . What community wouldn't want to be visited by hordes of kind, generous, sensitive, thoughtful, polite Ohioans? This will be the fifth time in the past seven years that the THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY have played their post-season game in Phoenix, and both sides seem quite pleased with the partnership. BUCKEYES has a 3-1 record, and they always bring in lots of tourist dollars. Yes, Boise State gave the Fiesta Bowl a great game when they beat Oklahoma two years ago, but is that really relevant? They simply don't have the large numbers of fans that OSU has, many of whom have shown a willingness to travel all the way to Arizona, even when they don't have a ticket to the game. OHIO STATE Whether or not the can be competitive against what is possibly the best team in the country remains to be seen. Our defense may be a little better than what they're used to seeing, but I'm not exactly optimistic. Texas is going to be out to prove a point, and I can't say that I blame them. The real travesty is that the Longhorns were denied a chance to play for the national championship. I personally think they're more deserving than either of the top two teams. Not only did they beat Oklahoma, but losing on the road to the #7 team in the country isn't nearly as bad as losing at home to a team that wasn't even ranked at the time. Mississippi turned out to be better than expected, and they now have a chance to prove that they're better than Texas Tech. However, even if they do, it won't change the fact that Texas got royally ripped off. BUCKEYES For a complete explanation of why this is the best thing for college football, please visit the BCS website...... P.S. Julia, how can you say that football is off topic? If I'm not mistaken, it seems to me that the football discussions on this website are frequently started by none other than the incomparable ! RHONDA VINCENT

Why, GLK, I think you are flattering Kimberly and I. Here I thought you'd be talking trash right up to the bowl game when we decimate OHIO STATE and you throw me off-guard with compliments! Is this due to your long-hair bias?? Well, when the gore the Buckeyes, "will you still love me tomorrow?" Longhorns HOOK 'EM HORNS!
Kudos to Gary for the kind words about Texas!
DOWN WITH THE BCS!!!!
