Here it is the 6th of April, and it's snowing for the 2nd day in a row in Missouri. 30 degrees, and a 30 MPH north wind. I don't know what the wind chill is, but it sure will cut ya like a knife. It is spring isn't it???? Global warming....my foot!!!

The Pirates are in first place, and the Cards in last. This could be the only time this year we can say that, so I thought I would throw that in. Only 161 games left...Prez. Enjoy it while you can!!!!

The Big 10 is playing for the NCAA Basketball Championship tonight. Sparty has played well in the tournament, beating 2 #1's along the way.

North Carolina should win tonight, but I've been wrong every since we left the Sweet 16.

Did the Yankees win today???? Last I looked, they were losing 3-1. With a payroll that rivals the national debt, and a new stadium, you'd think they would go 162-0.

Dear Herby,

Plowable Snow for tonight & tomorrow here in NY.  I turned on the water to the Tiki Bar & Outdoor Bathroom(maybe a little premature).  The last time I looked the Yankee's were losing 6-5 top of the eighth.  Now the final 10-5 loss on the road to Baltimore.  The Mets won 2-1 on the road.  Obviously the Mets can now be considered a better road team!  It's a little early in the season to get worried about your team...even the Pirates!  Mike G.

Cardinals never spent any money on getting closers during offseason.   You cant give up 4 runs in the 9th.

Man, it sure has been hot around here lately.  I had the day off, so I went for a long walk and then a moderate workout at the gym.  After that, I went to the outdoor pool at SDSU.  The place was packed with scholars, but I couldn't find anyone who wanted to discuss literature.  It reminded me of that old quote from the legendary George Bernard Shaw: "Youth is wasted on the young".

Tonight's game is the final sporting event until college football starts on September 3rd, so I hope it's a good one.  I've promised myself that I'll start cleaning off my desk and catching up on things as soon as this game ends.  I might even start thinking about doing my taxes.  So I'm hoping for seven overtimes.

The experts are picking the Tar Heels, but the Spartans have been wearing teams down with their superior depth.  If they can keep it close in the first half, maybe I'll get my seven overtimes.  A good friend of mine, who has never watched a basketball game in her life, is just a Michigan State win away from winning her office pool.  The world has gone mad!

I cannot believe that OHIO STATE 's lack of defense didn't win the Pontiac Game Changing Performance.  This is an outRAGE!  I demand a recount!

Meanwhile, Aubrey (the one in the office pool) is planning to watch the game.  She's really excited because she could win several hundred dollars.  I told her what I thought MSU needed to do to win, but she kept looking at me like I was speaking a foreign language.  Her knowledge of sports is comparable to the incomparable RHONDA VINCENT .

Speaking of sports & weather, it is 32 here with howling wind.  Last night, my daughter played a softball game and the temp was 38 with sleet/rain mixed.  Umpire called it after 5 - we lost 3-2.  I thought Rachel's pitching hand would break and fall off because of the cold.  In almost 10 years of my kid's baseball & softball, I have never seen kids play in that kind of weather - especially the sleet.  I think this is my payback for poking Mike Garlock a couple of days ago!

Global warming causes cooler temperatures.     I don't know anything about the other stuff.

Global warming causes cooler temps???? Then why are the icebergs melting? The only thing I know about that, (and this didn't come from a book) the polar ice cap has been melting every since the ice age. Less ice, warmer temps, oceans rise. That's common sense and Missouri logic at work.

I admit I didn't read Al Gore's book on Global Warming, but 1 thing I can tell you, icebergs wouldn't be melting in Missouri today. The darn polar bears should be very happy about that.

Me, I prefer warmer weather and the polar bears are on their own.  As far as Al Gore....he needs to continue writing his memoirs on how to lose an election when everything is in his favor to win it.

YES, yes it has gone completely mad.    Enough with the cold and snow!!!
Bring on the sunshine and warmer weather.
"Poor 86" () is outside using the snow blower as I type this.  It's OK Herby settle down and don't get your heart racing.......I'm getting dinner ready. I just know you'll have something to say about me being inside and 86 outside working.

No worries 99. We know you can multi task and do both. You're just letting 86 do his good deed for the week.

There's always tomorrow.
