The Ol' Dawg

Singer and songwriter Paul Davis has died of a heart attack at the age of 60.

Paul had classic soft rock and country hits like "Ride 'Em Cowboy", "Sweet Life", and "I Go Crazy" back in the day. Paul was pretty big in the Atlanta music scene during the late 70's and was very active with charitable causes while he was there. A great talent and a great gentleman - Paul will be missed.

That is very sad news, I was a huge fan way back when.  I Go Crazy has always been a favorite.  He will indeed be missed....

Thanks for posting that, Mike. He, along with the late Dan Fogelberg, were two of the most influential artists of my youth. For those who may not remember then name, I know you will remember the songs.

Some of you may even remember that back in February of 2005, I quoted Paul Davis in one of my photographs:

Rest in Peace, Brother Paul. You will be remembered.

The Ol' Dawg

Ol' Midnight was a champion,

He's the only bronc I couldn't ride.

But, now, I hear ol' Midnight's blind,

Rides the little children for a dime.

Truer lyrics 'bout gettin' older will NEVER be written.
